Media Law Conference in Atlanta

I wanted to let the group know about a media conference that the
Citizen Media Law Project and the Center for Sustainable Journalism at
Kennesaw State University are organizing in Atlanta, GA on Saturday
September 25, 2010.

There will be topics to help journalists transitioning to independent
organizations, freelancers, those figuring out what they need to do to
get online, as well as a series of panels that deal with traditional
media law issues like newsgathering, libel, defamation -- all from the
perspective of a journalist who publishes online.

The full-day program will be organized with a introductory plenary
panel in the morning, followed by three concurrent tracks of panels so
you can pick the topics that suit your needs the best. If there is
sufficient interest, there will also be small-group workshops to help
journalists with FOI questions and to walk through common legal
documents -- from contributors agreements, to licenses, to website
terms of use and privacy policies. Breakfast and lunch are included
with registration.
