In an email to me, Maria Burns Ortiz, former NeighborMedia (http://
neighbormedia.org) correspondent and regional director for the
Northeast on the National Association of Hispanic Journalists' board
of directors, writes "it's open to anyone, and they've tried to keep
it as affordable as possible so that all journalists (i.e. backpack,
student, independent, etc.) can afford it."

Looking for some affordable multimedia skills training? Want to
network with fellow NAHJ members? Do your annual review goals require
you attend a training seminar? Are you an aspiring student journalist?
NAHJ Region 2 along with NAHJ New England and Emerson College will be
hosting the NAHJ Region 2 Conference and Multimedia Training Sessions
(Directions and parking information: http://www.emerson.edu/about/getting_to_emerson.cfm)
Cost: $25 for NAHJ member, $30 for UNITY members, $40 for non-members.
$10 for NAHJ or UNITY student members, $20 non-member students
ON-SITE REGISTRATION ONLY
Special for non-members: if you opt to sign up for NAHJ membership on-
site, we will credit the $25 conference registration ($10 for
students) toward your membership.
Also, funding has been donated so that we can offer registration
waivers to 10 student members. Interested students please contact
Region 2 Director Maria Burns Ortiz at nahjr...@gmail.com as soon
as possible.
The multimedia sessions are the following. Each session will be
repeated in each of the day’s four time slots.
