I'm trying to figure out the correct way to determine center-of-channel. By using DF=0 in JT65-HF, the signal shows up as a bit below the proper (?) place of PSK31 signals, (+1500, using DM780). So I was thinking about setting DF to +100, and calling CQ. But I thought it would be wise to get a confirmation or a correction before proceeding.
Comments???
(I'll probably be on channel 3, or if that is busy, then channel 2.)

TX DF = 0 = 1270.5 Hertz. To be at 1500 you''ll need to run DF = +230 to be at 1500.5 which is as close as you can get or 229 to be at 1499.5. You could also adjust the VFO to offset such that your relative TX DF = 0 = 1500 in RF tones. I leave this to the more inclined to figure it out faction to digest. :)
Just a reminder from what I said on this in the past. The RB System does not see 60M QRG as valid nor does current versions of JT65-HF so trying to send spots at those QRGs will not work and it will likely zero the input box if you try to enter the value. Future versions will change this but it is very very unclear when a future version will be available with all that's otherwise going on with me at this time.

Does +230 put the SYNC tone right in the middle of the channel? Or should the middle of the JT65 signal be in the middle? Or is that being too picky??? :-)

There were (at least) 5 of us on 60 meters last night (channel 3), and I made 3 QSOs. Thanks Dave WB4KDI, Barry KS7DX, and Phil KA1GMN.
I used the USB dial freq (5.3570MHz USB) as advertised, and put the DF at about +229, as required.
It will be annoying to have only 1 signal at a time, but the upside is that there won't be QRM from nearby overly-strong signals. :-)
Even though the .adi log file needs to be manually edited afterward (to add <BAND:3>60m<FREQ:5>5.357 ), and though there is no RB/PSKR reporting, JT65-HF seems to work fine on 60m. I look forward to more QSOs -- so I hope some of you jump on in.... though only 1 at a time! ;-)
Yes, it is indeed a challenge w/ one signal at at time. You have to be clairvoyant in figuring which station is going to call CQ next - and in which even/odd time slot. I found that I was getting good signal reports (almost too good) using 10 watts. I am sure that 5 watts or even less would have done the job.

How do I get the Yaesu FT-450 to go into USB/DATA mode? The other question, is 60 meters legal here yet?

Thanks for the contact Dave!
