Subject: FlexRadio's TNF feature
A FlexRadio has what they called TNF, Tuneable Notch Filter.

no matter how much stronger the qrming station is -- a click of a mouse
button and you can drag a narrow filter over the signal.
And when I say he's gone,,, I mean gone.
And if the signal should drift or qsy, you mouse grab this yellow hash
filter in the Panadaptor and drag it over his new frequency.
No ringing, no signal, GONE.... with no effect on the signal you want to
copy.
I use it in cw, digital, and works really really well in JT

If you wish to see it, go to the FlexRadio site and check it out.

You can also "stack" the filters for those too strong to be "gone"
with just one.  Double (or more, tried up to six before I figured it
pointless any further) TNF gives even more blanking of the signal
under them.

I wish the PSDR software had a ULTIMATE instead of just x3.  Although,
I'm glad to have ANY notch filter!

Like Frank, I use the TNF feature.  Somettimes I use a mix of TNF and
bandpass filtering.

When I running the 857D, the high pass and low pass filter menus opened so
I can set the freq paramters of the filters. This is very awkward, but I am
getting better at this with more practice.

I've also found that a single thin TNC sliver in the right spot on the
waterfall will make "Smooth" work better without blacking out the
screen on a strong signal.
