checkbox theme usage

I have just started working with jsTree, and was very pleased to see
the checkbox theme you added in v0.9.6.
I was able to quickly modify one of your examples to use checkboxes,
but was unable to figure out how to display the checkboxes in addition
to the normal folder or file icons (instead of replacing them). Can
you offer any suggestions?
What I would like is a normal tree display, with the addition of a
checkbox in front of each folder or leaf icon.
I must admit that I have a lot to learn about CSS, so please be
patient with me if this is an RTFM question -- any assistance would be
greatly appreciated.

Currently there is no built in method to achieve that. If you use
predefined HTML as source, you could add an image to the <a> element
(floated to the left).
