Minn. rules for Franken in Senate fight

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Supreme Court has ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state's long-running Senate race.

The high court rejected a legal challenge from Republican Norm Coleman, whose options for regaining the Senate seat are dwindling.

Justices said Franken is entitled to the election certificate he needs to assume office. With Franken and the usual backing of two independents, Democrats will have a big enough majority to overcome Republican filibuster.

Coleman hasn't ruled out seeking federal court intervention.

Finally! Now Brent can really start blaming all of Bush's fuckups on the dems.

Yes its all Franken's fault...silly us...blaming Bush?...what are we thinking...seems the pulse of the economy solely rests on Franken...Brent's wisdom is rearing its ugly head again.

Noah,  Let's try living in the present.  Obviously the thought of the dems owning the WH, House and filibuster proof Senate did little to boost investor confidence today.

Let's try living in reality. The market was down early, largely based on released consumer confidence numbers, and the Franken announcement is barely an hour old. Cause=effect generally requires the cause to happen before the effect. Even if you take into account anticipation of an event, in this case, their wasn't even an indication the MN Supremes would announce their decision today - so you can point to anticipation of the decision.

Why do I have an idea that the stock market doesn't give a shizzle about Franken, regardless of how Brent spins it.

At any rate, I'm going to repeat myself for the umpteenth time:  the GOP controlled the White House, with the first MBA Prez, Congress, and the Supreme Court, and that resulted in our economy being left in tatters.  Oh wait, there wasa chance that Obama could win the election.  That's when everything started going south.  WTF ever.  Let us know when you're ready & willing to 'live in the present.'
