Subject: New photos added and photography patents found
Hi everyone -

We finally added seven new scans from the J. S. Johnston yacht
photography collection, including photos of the Valkyrie (was this
Valkyrie I, II or III?), Vigilant, Lasca, and Ethelwynn(e). Does
anyone know anything about the Ethelwynn(e)? (And which is the proper
spelling?)

We also added one new photograph of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club (we
had previously uploaded a duplicate by mistake) and updated quite a
few individual pages with information that visitors to the website
have sent us. (Thank you!)

In addition, we found an 1897 patent that Johnston filed for
developing film on a drum. See

Does anyone know who Frank Sachse of New York City is?

We also found an earlier 1886 patent by Johnston for a portable camera
apparatus. Was this what he used to shoot this collection?
See: http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT350682&id=pINdAAAAEBAJ&printse...

Enjoy!

Chris
