I just wanted to touch base real quick with everyone here in the
OpenJSAN group to let you know about an initiative that we're
undergoing over in the jQuery camp (http://jquery.com/).
One of the things that makes jQuery special is its plugin
architecture. It allows authors to easily, and simply, write plugins
that snap into the jQuery framework. Up until this point we haven't
defined a specific architecture through which all plugins should be
written. Although, we've since arrived at the point where having some
structure is necessary.
After some careful review, we decided that the existing module style
of OpenJSAN was perfectly suited to our needs. In the next couple days
we'll be making a full announcement concerning this and we're really
excited by what this means for both projects.
This means a lot for JSAN itself (which excites me since I'm a Perl
hacker who's been following the project since its inception). We'll be
giving the following back to the project:
- JSAN-compatible jQuery
- Over 150 JSAN-compatible jQuery Plugins
- A dedicated mirror of the JSAN site and code
We're going to be rolling each of these out, individually, over the
upcoming weeks and months, but you can, at least, expect to see some
great support coming from us in the future.
Please let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

This is great news. I am very excited about this.
We have a lot of todo items on our list, so let us know if there are things
we can work together on to bring better support up sooner in certain areas.
I'll update my jQuery checkout today and reacquaint myself with the project
in case there is any other info / advice I can add.
Let me/us know how things go and if there's anything you guys needs.
Thanks,
John Cappiello
