Would it be possible for you to use a handle? Maybe you could add a
div inside the LI that you use as handle. This of course means that
you can't sort by clicking just anywhere in the table (only by using
the handle), but on the other hand I think your links would work like
they should.

That worked for my sortable... But of course, it depends on your
design...
