Hi all. Yes, patience is a virtue, isn't it?

------------------------

Dear all,

Ive been following the posts with interest but found it time to step
in.

ASIA FJP want to tour all over the world but where we play is not
under my control. I would be happy touring 11 months of the year.
However touring is really expensive, flights alone for the band and
crew can cost thousands and then
agents, management and promoters need paying. Also gone are the days
where record companies gave tour support money, in fact they now try
to get a percentage of the concert fee.

Since the split of GD and myself there have been legal issues that are
now resolved but it has taken a while to get back up to speed and
thankfully we have a run of exciting dates this summer. We are about
to sign a worldwide deal with an incredible record company run by a
very famous switched on guy and I wont announce it until pen hits
paper.

Perhaps at some stage we may also do a string of dates similar to ASIA
ACROSS AMERICA arranged by fans but frankly my priority is for the
whole band at the moment. From July on our profile will steadily
increase and I promise you if we can make a gig work anywhere in the
world we will be there.

Also records will come out as soon as they are finished and when we
feel it is a piece of work worthy of your continued support.

Regards

John

Hello all.I've been a member of this group since John started GPS and i can't recall ever having contributed, but have read all the e mails that come through. It's very frustrating sitting over this side of the pond waiting for news of tours and cd's.It seems like ages since i first played and loved window to the soul and saw John and the boys perform in one of the best gigs i've ever seen in a [what can only be described] as a room above a pub in Nuneaton.I think i'm right in saying that it was the first gig that GPS played as the main band.Anyway, since that night i have been desperate to see them play again.Looks like my dreams are finally going to come true.So please John don't forget your fans over her in England [i'm sure you won't].

Thanks for putting our minds at ease, JP.  I'm sure you'll get close to most if not all of us.  I realise the artists don't usually have a say in where they play, and how much we pay.

Yeh, & if you need ‘gear’ to play in the UK, I’m sure we can get it together to save you the air freight! There’s enough musicians who support you to make it happen..in GPS or AFJP format. Whichever, we’re waiting patiently.

Hi All!

Not been a member of this group for long, so I'll say a quick hello - I'm a 31 year old scouser, based in Merseyside UK - mainly like heavy metal (plaYED THE DRUMS FOR 15 YEARS), but have been a huge JP/ Asia / GPS fan since the release of Aqua, waaaay back in 91! other than that, and my wife and kids, my other obsession is LFC!! Loved every single song John has ever written and genuinely believe he is THE single most talented musician/ songwriter that the UK has ever produced - definately the worlds most underrated artist also!

Anyway....further to Marc's below email, I'm sure there are other like-minded fans who'd be happy to serve as a tourbus for you as well John! I've got a huge transit van, and I'd happily ferry you and the guys or your equipment, all over the North West, for free if it helps in any way! You have got a loyal following back home lad and we'll all happily chip in to help out if it brings us any closer to a tour!

Just wanted to put my 2pence in aswell! Good luck on the upcoming dates and can't wait to hear the new album and looking forward to seeing you guys in concert soon - my last one was on the Aura tour at the Liverpool Royal Court in 2001! great show that - one of Guthrie's early one's I think...Soz.. I'm babbling again!

keep on making and performing the wonderfull stuff you do, Mr Payne..and to all you other fans - great choice in music!

To our new Northern mate: Aqua was out in 1992.  JP was hired in '91, and the rest is history!
Maybe if there's enough demand, AFJP may squeeze in at least one UK show.  I'm hoping they'll do the same for Upstate New York.  Fingers crossed!
Marillion say that even when the labels gave money to artists for promotion, they had to pay it back (Claudio, you may have seen this on their site.  Jeri's a fan of Fish too).  I knew that doesn't happen anymore.  The rules have changed.  Piracy did it.
If JP could honour everyone's requests on where to do a show, he would.  He does care how we feel.  He does what he can.
The list of dates said there'd be more, so stay tuned!
