Opportunities abound in the Joseph Priestley District for training and professional advancement.

Our Whole Lives is reality-based, comprehensive sexuality education consistent with Unitarian Universalist values.  Training for grades 7-9 and grades 10-12 teachers will be offered twice this fall.  Save the dates for September OWL training events at Temenos retreat center and at the UU Congregation of Fairfax. Please note that participants will arrange their own housing for the event at the UU Congregation of Fairfax. 

Save the date for JPD Leadership Day, Saturday, October 11, at the UU Church in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Sally Patton will present an introductory version of the "Involve" training.  Sally Patton is the author of "Welcoming Children With Special Needs."  Other workshop options will include Small Group Ministry and Stewardship.  Lay leaders will enjoy attending workshops related to various facets of congregational life, then connecting the dots with other leaders from their congregation.  Don't miss this exciting opportunity!

Volunteers and professional staff who work with UU students and Young Adults are invited to a training event October 9-12 at the UU Church of Washington Crossing in Titusville, NJ.  This training will include extended opportunities for professional staff and expert volunteers as well as one-day training for new volunteers.  The sliding scale registration fee ranges from $50 at the least expensive level for the one-day training to $150 at the most abundant level for the longer training.  Contact Nancy DiGiovanni (617-948-4629) and Erik Kesting (617-948-6463) at the Unitarian Universalist Association for more information.
