I'm attempting to stick it out with Google Groups btw. I've enabled
moderation of people joining the group and of posts from new
members... sucks that I have to put people through all that but even
if I can keep the group clean, folk are still getting emails so ...

I see there is still a sourceforge project for joscar -- I'm just
throwing this out there as an idea but do you think maybe we should
consider bringing joscar back to sourceforge? Using the forums or
mailing lists there? I know they suck.. I dislike them.. but I've never
seen spam on them.

Crap.. I went hunting for information on spam controls for google groups
and all I'm finding is reports of the service sucking, being overwhelmed
with spam, and that it looks like google has 'given up' on the service.

Can't you setup some basic rule filters at least?
Cause even simple wordlist would cut most of these out.
These guys aren't even trying to disguise them.

Hi folk,

I'm trying to keep the group clean from the spammers but that doesn't
prevent people viewing it as a mailing list from having to deal with
it. I've been reporting and banning and doing whatever I can. I'll
see if there's a way to contact google about it if it keeps up too
much.

Honestly it's been so long since I applied it that I barely remember --
it had something to do with an Russian ICQ issue. For some reason ICQ
was only upset about this on the Russian servers.

Trouble Uploading Image in ICQ

Hi
Am trying to upload avatar in ICQ but am having some problem. The
avatar doesnt get changed immediately but changes after I do a proper
login from ICQ client. The same code is working fine for AIM account
with changes being displayed immediately.

for the user.

After going through joscardemo which already implements it i have been
able to modify it to suit my condition (setting the Icon from byte[]
of image).
The class used was:
net.kano.joscar.snaccmd.icon.U plaodIconCmd

Hi Shashank, unfortunately there is very little documentation - there is a
demo in the source tree which serves as the best documentation. I can also
recommend the forums <[link]>,
people are often helpful there.
To set an avatar, use aimConnection.
getMyBuddyIconManager().reques tSetIcon(...)
