I have an issue with RSForms Pro and apparently it is not configured to use the tmp folder like everything else when setting up a file upload on a form. What is par for course is the RSJoomla team is not keen on giving out much detail and never gives a straight answer in the forum. What I see is it wants to have the server tmp folder setup in the php.ini file and I have seen other extensions that have asked for this as well so I think this is something that needs to be done regardless.

So my question is what do I need to do in order to setup the php.ini file to set the php temp directory? I have found upload_tmp_dir= in the php.ini file but I am not sure what I need to do? Do I need to create a folder somewhere in cPanel and then point to it here, or is this a file that is already in the cPanel install and I just need to enable it here? I own the server and would like to do this as a global setting rather than per account. Can anyone shed some light on this and offer any information on how to best approach this problem?

Thanks

Kevin M.

RS Joomla do not answer the forum - exactly as they state
"The forum is provided to exchange information and experience with other users ONLY. Forum responses are not guaranteed.
Please submit a ticket to receive your official RSJoomla! customer support."

If you submit a support ticket then I have always found their support to be above exceptional

Thanks Brian, I put in a ticket 4 days ago and still have not heard back, I wish I had your luck with them. It would be great if they would see the value of the forum as a repository that we could search for answers. I think they are too proud of their ticket system and would rather answer the same questions over and over. Of course that is when they get around to it…

Kevin,

Other vendors (who sell J. extensions) do likewise, e.g., ComDev.eu,
which makes the J. extension JomDirectory and a few other J. extensions.
They prefer to use their trouble ticket system rather than their forum,
which could be a valuable knowledge repository. Alas.

Sincerely,
Paul Bain
