Jason Mark of Gravity Switch (a web development firm in Northampton, MA) presents:

Why Agile Web Development Means Less Risk & Happier Clients.

Join NEAUG (New England Adobe Users Group) on November 6th, 2012 from 1pm – 4pm at the Marlboro Graduate Center in Brattleboro Vermont to witness a real-world demo of Agile in action – a faster, cleaner way to build websites!  This continues our series on deploying new websites from scratch.  In this session a website will be built in a period of three hours on one of the popular Content Management Systems!

A few years ago, Gravity Switch did an audit of our workflow and we realized the most challenging parts of their web design process was the waiting and delays.

    * Waiting for feedback.
    * Waiting for answers.
    * Restarting that thing you were working on last week.
    * Forgetting what was talked about last month.
    * Staff changes at a client's location
    * Strategic changes for a client over the development process

So, they made a concerted effort to eliminate risks and improve communication by removing any unnecessary "empty time" in the project.   What they ended up with is an amazing process that transforms the usual 3-6 month website build process into a two week focused, concerted effort.  This change resulted in a more fun, successful and less risky process for everyone involved!
