My boss has now asked me if we can use some kind of feed link from our
extranet site that will send him emails when an articles is added. I
was told earlier in my travels that you can't do this with a protected
site. Is there a way to make this happen without putting 50 zillion
more extensions in?

Thanks,

JJ

How about something like this? http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/authoring-a-content/content-submission/15551

I've never used it, but it looks like what you need.

That looks interesting Matt, and it might work for this. Can you tell
me for sure though whether or not an RSS can be used in this type of
website as he disagrees with me on that point.

Thanks for everything!

Hi JJ,

I don't know for sure, but I'd image that the RSS feed wouldn't work as the site is protected and the content isn't public. How would Joomla know if you are supposed to get the feed or not?
