Introduction 

Welcome to the JoomlaLIMS group.  This group was created to distribute and discuss JoomaLIMS, a Laboratory Information Management System aimed at typical small molecular biology-based labs.  JoomlaLIMS was built using the Joomla CMS and the Joomla FacileForms component.  JoomlaLIMS is a web application and requires that you have access to a web server running PHP and MySQL.  You will need some experience with installing PHP/MySQL-based web software (or else a helpful sysadmin) to run JoomlaLIMS.

Availability 

The latest version of JoomlaLIMS is available in the Files section (joomlalims.tar.gz).  Screenshots of the forms are also available in Files (PNG files).  Brief documentation is available in the Pages section, where you will find a short introduction and some installation notes.

Support 

JoomlaLIMS is not a sophisticated application, but it works well enough for me and is used daily in two laboratories where I have worked.  This is the first time that I've released it to the world at large, so you are almost guaranteed to find usage issues and bugs.  Please let me know about them by posting to Discussions.  Note however that I'm a postdoctoral researcher trained in biology, not a software engineer or IT sysadmin, so I can only provide limited support as time permits.
