I am curious why an id is inserted into the url of a tag? I don't see how this is necessary. Unlike articles "duplicates" are okay in the sense that it should and will link to the same tag. But with articles they are obviously unique even if both article titles are "Joomla" and "Joomla".

 I was just working on my component and wondering if anyone has considered unifying the front & back ends? It seems that a lot of complexity and duplication comes from having them separated. I understand that is part of the whole mambo legacy, but is it really nessecary anymore?
Unifying them would simplify a lot of the classes and bring all of the backend functionality to the front-end (which most components are doing the hard way. It would also simplify installation packages and remove the need for mirror MVC/Language/helper files.

 Hi everybody,
It looks that the canonical URLs in Joomla! 3.1 is working now perfectly
for articles. It's great :)
However it seems now that Joomla! is always trying to determine the
canonical URL. The main problem for me is that it is being done through the
method "addHeadLink" which do not allow any further alteration of it.

 Hi
I have two questions relating to deleting/removing tags:
- When deleting a tag in the tag manager, the entry in #__tags is
removed, but the mappings in #__contentitem_tag_map are still there. Imho
this is wrong. I see two ways to solve this. I could probably provide code
for both ways, but would like to know what your preferences are.

 Hi,
we have used the onkeyup function in our old joomla 1.5 component in admin side edit form.
now we have change the component to joomla 3.0 compatibility.
so we are now used the xml file for this.
that xml field is
<field name="template_text"
type="textarea"
label="SMSTEMPLATEV_TEXT"
description="SMSTEMPLATEV_TEXT _DESC"

Is it safe/future proof to use Mootools in a J3-component?

 I love Joomla, and also I love Mootools. It is beautifully object oriented and an "extension" to the native Javascript. jQuery I do not like as much but since Joomla (Bootstrap) is using it, I should follow.
The question though, when building JS for custom fields/forms and things like that, I have previously (in components for J1.5 to J2.5) built my javascripts using Mootools Classes. This makes the JFormFields self contained and kind of namespaced.
