Hi,
I've created a tostring branch ([link]
development/branches/tostring) and change all calls from $object-
(echo $object is equivalent to echo (string)$object if there is a
__toString() method)

Patchwork: Installer check for JSON functions

Ok, so it's daggy but to help find threads for things to do we'll be
prefixing them with "Patchwork".
There's a bug listed where a user server does not have the json
libraries installed. I'd like a patch to add this check to the
installer as this will be a vital requirement for 1.6.

Oh yes, and to follow up, I'm working on a plugin for our users to give
things a test spin. Should have something to release fairly soon. Just
waiting for the other dev coords to return :)

That would be appropriate to add.
I don't think that is necessary in the module.
The module loader should do that automatically. I think some language
files have been shifted around to the wrong place in the trunk.
Use the frontend model.
Not sure on that one, I'll have to take a look.

So right now in the front end category (list) layouts we have some of
each, JModelList and JModelItem. Which should be the standard?

While I was working on the mod_latest refactoring I found some
problems
1 - There's no way to filter by "not added or modified by me" or
"added or modified by me";
2 - There' no way to filter by the access level. Even com_content at
the backend show all articles even if the user isn't authorised to
view the article;

Hi folks,
if you are also signed up to the joomla-dev-framework list, you've seen
my mails with little tasks here and there that you can take up for
JSimpleXML and JForm/JParameter. Here is another one from the luckily
not so long list to get 1.6 to beta status.
In the administrator, there are several modules that are not MVCed yet.
