We have some cool new features just launched on joind.in, this was
quite a lot of changes so if you have a moment to click around the
site, that would be awesome - please let us know if anything looks
weird. First, I will paste the email I sent to the features mailing
list, then I have some other things to tell you so keep reading!

---------------

Hi All,

We don't often post to this mailing list but I have just launched* two
big changes to the site that I thought you would like to know about.

Firstly, while users can still comment anonymously, the ratings
associated with these comments will no longer count towards the
overall rating of a talk. We think this strikes the balance between
people wanting to anonymously give negative feedback, and those people
leaving a lot of anonymous comments to bring down the rating of a talk
deliberately.

The other change is that for a few minutes after making a comment, a
logged-in user can now edit their remarks and rating. We've had a lot
of requests for this one and we hope you enjoy the new feature.

That's all from me, get in touch if you have any comments, suggestions
or questions about joind.in!

Lorna

* I didn't actually *build* any of these features, I just get to press
the launch button! Many thanks to the contributors who made this
happen :)

--------------------

To be able to edit comments on your own dev copies of joindlin, you'll
need to copy the new entry from config.php.dist over into your own
config.php file, so look out for that.

The other big news for the development crowd is that we now have
decent sample data!!! This is great news and thanks to Josh and Rob
who went around *many* iterations getting that to where it is today.
I added a note about it to the main README file so that we'll all know
where to find it.

Thanks to everyone who put in pull requests, things got a little slow
in terms of merging them I'm afraid and I hope you'll all forgive me
for that. I had a bad combination of professional and personal events
all colliding at once and joind.in had to wait. In general, I aim to
get pull requests either merged or closed as quickly as I can. I also
realise that the bugs list could do with some love and I am hoping to
get to that this week.

If you have any comments, questions, or other feedback - just get in
touch :)

Lorna
