Tuesday May 22, 2012 Today is Day 2

Attention all Students: Beginning Tuesday, May 29th, students will
not be permitted to enter the cafeteria without presenting a printed
schedule.

Patriot of the Year Award: Attention faculty and staff, please check
your email for nomination forms for the Patriot of the Year Award.
Deadline is June 1st. This is a monetary award given to a senior who
demonstrates the meaning of Patriot Pride and School Spirit. If you
need a hard copy, please see Ms. Stufano in the main office.

Wappingers Congress of Teachers: The WCT Food Drive runs through
Thursday. Donation box is in the main lobby. Please donate non-
perishable food items.

Geometry Regents Review: Today and Thursday, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Algebra 2/Trig Review & Algebra/Geometry Review: Get ready for the
regents! See your math teacher for the review class schedule and room
number.

Driver’s Education: The Driver Ed office is now accepting
applications for the summer sessions of driver education. Please see
the Wappingers website for more details.

Fall Sports: If you plan to try out for a fall sport, please see the
nurse now.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Scholarship Opportunity: Attention seniors, the JJ Athletic
Association is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior.
Applications and details are in the main office. Deadline is June
1st.

Senior Class T-shirts: A sample of the 2012 senior t-shirt and order
forms are in the main office. Shirts are $15 each.

Cap & Gowns: Jostens will be here to distribute caps and gowns for
seniors today and tomorrow during all lunch periods in room 112.

Community Service Hours: Volunteers are needed for EF’s Memorial Day
Soccer Tournament on Saturday, May 26th, and Sunday, May 27th, between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. You will be awarded community
service hours. Please see Ms. Stufano in the main office for details.

Anime/Manga: Meeting today in room 225.

2012 Student Elections: Elections for class officers and student
council will be conducted electronically this year. The election runs
today through Thursday. Students are expected to vote for both class
officers and student council officers on mybigcampus.com. To access
mybigcampus.com, from home or school, use your regular school login
and password. Go to the JJ Website and click on the Student Elections
Tab for directions. Students are not permitted to miss any portion of
instructional time in order to vote. You can vote before school,
immediately after school, or at home. Good luck to all candidates!

Students Running for Class Officer or Student Council: Please go to
room 229 immediately after school for a quick meeting.

Field Day Captains: Meeting today, 2:00-2:30, in room 225 to go over
rules.

Field Day Students without a team are welcomed at field day.
Bracelets will be sold on that day for $2.00.

Multicultural Club: Mandatory meeting for members and students
participating in the Multicultural Fair on Thursday after school in
room M1.

Multicultural Fair: Set for May 29th, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the
auditorium lobby. Come for an evening of cultural experiences
including food samples and performances from all over the world.

office. Seniors will be given their yearbooks at the Senior
Breakfast. Seniors can purchase a yearbook at the breakfast for $85,
cash only.

Cap & Gowns: Jostens will be here to distribute caps and gowns for
seniors today during all lunch periods in room 112.

Student Congress: Meeting cancelled for today.

Dance Group: Mandatory practice today and tomorrow.

Environmental Club: Meeting today after school in room 253.
Teachers, if you have boxes with bottles in them, please leave them
outside of your classroom after 8th period.

Math Honor Society: Rehearsal for Induction is today at 2:00 in the
auditorium. Please arrive tonight at 6:15 p.m. for the Induction to
start at 7:00 p.m.

Softball: The Sectional Semi-Final Softball game is home today vs.
Carmel at 4:30 p.m.

Baseball: The baseball team will be in the championship game at
Dutchess Stadium at 7:00 p.m. vs. Arlington High School.

Girls Soccer: Mandatory meeting for girls’ soccer on Monday at 6:30
p.m. at Van Wyck. All JJ students interested in trying out for the
2012 season should attend.

Cheerleading: Important informational meeting for anyone interested
in trying out for JV or Varsity cheerleading for the 2012-2013
season. The meeting is set for Tuesday, June 5th, at 7:00 p.m. in
room 128. Interested students and their parents are encouraged to
attend.

Basketball: Attention any girl interested in playing basketball,
there will be a mandatory meeting June 11th at 4:30 p.m. in the gym.
Please bring your summer schedule. The meeting will take
approximately 20 minutes, so please have your rides available.
