MoveOn.org, the 8-million-strong grassroots progressive organization, just launched an audacious campaign: Run Warren Run, a massive drive to urge Elizabeth Warren to run for president. Starting now, we’re building a crack team of brilliant organizers to build a grassroots brushfire that can’t be ignored.

This is not an easy job. You’ll be building the foundation of a presidential campaign for someone who says she’s not running for president. But this is an amazing job. A potentially world-changing job. Because this moment was made for Elizabeth Warren.

The defining fights of Warren’s life new define American politics: inequality, the corrupting power of big money, and a system rigged to benefit the powerful, leaving the middle class and working families behind. Warren only ran for the U.S. Senate after a grassroots “draft Warren” campaign showed her that she’d have the support she needed, and convinced her that joining the race was the best way for her to make a difference. Your job is to show her that the same thing is true today, on a larger stage.  You will build a grassroots army in Iowa or New Hampshire that shows Elizabeth Warren that if she runs, she could win—and that she’ll have a movement by her side.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Work with the best grassroots volunteers and develop their leadership. MoveOn has more than 55,000 members across Iowa and 47,000 members across New Hampshire--you’ll organize them.

Build coalitions and recruit local allies

Create and implement a statewide field plan, building a volunteer infrastructure necessary to lead a winning campaign

Recruit, train and manage a team field organizers who can drive a successful state-wide program

Lead staff to build, coach, and support teams of volunteers across all counties in the state.

Train field staff to: carry out effective 1-to-1 meetings; plan and execute trainings; and support leaders to become organizers themselves.

Ensure that in each targeted county there are regular visibility events, house meetings, and creative days of action.

Ensure that data is utilized properly, including cutting walk lists, recording results, creating proper survey questions, using advance targeting methods, etc.

      Manage day-to-day operations state-wide

Support campaign media work as needed

Support local political outreach and relationship-building with allies and stakeholders, as needed

Desired skills and experience:

Demonstrated ability to build, manage and lead a team

Can inspire staff and volunteers with a vision for this campaign and for our democracy.

Strong management and leadership experience in previous field organizing campaigns

Proven recruitment skills, with experience identifying, training, and motivating teams of grassroots volunteers and leaders.

Ability to delegate work and ensure objectives are met in rapid-response environments while intentionally developing the skills of team members and volunteers

Commitment to progressive change, great work ethic and high degree of professionalism.

Strong communication and relational skills, and ability to work collaboratively.

Knowledge of the local political landscape

Experience with basic online organizing principles, and able to integrating virtual systems to drive on-the-ground campaign goals.

Excellent analytical and data management skills

Self-motivated and able to be effective working independently in an organization whose staff work remotely
