DCCC Senior Field Director Training
2012 is here, and the time to reclaim the majority has arrived. We
need to make sure that we take back the house so we can pass
legislation that matters to middle class Americans. Building strong
field operations in districts across the country is crucial in 2012
and the DCCC is searching for top Field Directors to help in our
efforts to win our most competitive congressional campaigns.
We will be hosting a Field Director training from Saturday, February
25th – Monday, February 27th, 2012 at the DNC Headquarters in
Washington, DC. This training is for applicants who are ready to lead
a field program in its entirety. If you are interested in

by February 12th, 2012 or you not be considered for admission.
The training will cover:
• Field Strategy & Planning
• Organizing Best Practices
• Working with other departments on a campaign
• Budgeting
• Legal Framework
• Staff and Volunteer Management
Field Directors on congressional campaigns are responsible for
creating, implementing and executing a field plan in a congressional
district. The Field Director is responsible for managing their team of
field organizers to build the volunteer infrastructure necessary to
execute the voter contact strategy to win. In addition, Field
Directors are responsible for ensuring that data is utilized properly;
including cutting walk lists, recording results, creating proper
survey questions, using advanced targeting methods, etc.
Field Directors must have strong leadership skills and the ability to
manage a large staff. They are responsible for coaching organizers to
do their work effectively and holding them accountable to reporting
their results daily. Applicants should have at least one cycle of
field experience working on a political campaign with management
experience a must.
