Description:   Our client, one of the largest banks in the US with wealth management, investment banking, and international business, is seeking a Systems Engineer (Level II)                                          Location: Jersey City, NJ or Chicago, IL                        Project Type: Contract                                          Job Description & Requirements:                     -Senior Unix SA responsible for managing, implementing and validating key configuration settings within Linux and Solaris platforms.                    -This involves ensuring each environment meet the defined security baseline standards as dictated by our Technical Audit team.                          -Will be working with the Business Technology, Technology Infrastructure and Enterprise Security teams throughout and drive coordination, scheduling and execution of changes needed to ensure compliance.                      -The candidate will be responsible for remediation activities, often occurring off-hours, over the weekend. In addition they will be responsible for providing timely status reports after every event. They will be accountable to work with the clients to resolve any issue, post-change, should they arise.                                                 Required Skills                         - Minimum 5-7 years of Industry experience in various system administration and Infrastructure support roles.                   - 5+ years of Unix system administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise 5/6 and Solaris 9/10 Operating Systems.                     - Extensive knowledge of Unix Security Baselines, Standards and best practices                  - Knowledge and experience supporting core platform services on which the infrastructure is dependent (DNS, AD, NTP, EFS, NIS, NFS, VCS)                        - Resource must have extensive oral and written communication skills, as they would be expected to regularly face off with senior executives in the global markets technology organization, as well as senior management in technology infrastructure operations..                      - Thorough understanding of Enterprise architecture and the various infrastructure components: Servers, SAN/NAS Storage devices, Routers, Network switches and Firewalls.                       - Ability to recognize problem situations and work with various technology teams for resolution, performs well under pressure.                  - Strong leadership skills and work ethic, flexibility to work weekend and evenings as needed
