Rabbi Elisha Ancselovits (Yadin Yadin – RIETS) teaches Halakhah as
Practical Philosophy in the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and in
Yeshivat Maale Gilboa.  He has taught at additional Orthodox and
secular Israeli institutions and has lectured in Shandong University
(China).  He has also published a number of articles in Hebrew (and
more recently in English) on Halakhah as Practical Philosophy.  Elisha
– who holds an MA in Modern Jewish Studies, who completed coursework
towards an MA in Medieval Jewish History and who has taught critical
Talmud and Bible – is awaiting the Viva Voce for his PhD dissertation,
“Towards a New Theory of Halakhic Development”.  The dissertation
analyzes Rabbinic legal thought through the generations and was
written under the supervision of the founding editor of the Jewish Law
Annual and founding member of the International Association for the
Semiotics of Law, Bernard S. Jackson.
