I have learned about the recent detainment of Christian attorney Gao Zhisheng since February 4,
2009, and I know from studding the history of Christianity that Christianity grows strongest when
it is under persecution. For example the Roman empire persecuted Christians for centuries by
killing them and making them martyrs; moreover, this caused soon enough the entire Roman empire to
christianize. For this very reason Christianity became the state religion of the Roman empire, and
now Christianity is spread all throughout the entire western world almost 2,000 years after the
Crucifixion of Christ.
The fundamental Christian teaching is that Jesus Christ who is God was born, died on the cross
innocently under persecution, and in three days he rose from the dead and sits with God the Father
over all the world executing judgment as a King. Jesus Christ taught all of his followers
that, "unless you pick up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of me." In other words the
mark of a true Christian is that they are willing to be persecuted for their faith.
Now that Christian attorney Gao Zhisheng is being identified as being persecuted he is thus being
identified as worthy of Christ, and as a result his faith will receive an enormous amount of
following as he is identified as a person higher in the chain of command to God. I am excited
about all of these things because I know that the time is soon when China will become a Christian
nation. The more that Christians are persecuted in China the greater the spread of Christianity
because Christians will identify themselves as being killed on the Cross with Christ, and the more
that Christians are persecuted in China the more that others will see examples of Christians being
persecuted like Christ was persecuted and thus the story of Christ crucifixion becomes more real in
the minds of the people.

This is just to let everyone know that President Obama may be speaking
to Chinese officials to free Gao Zhisheng whom some of us have written
letters on behalf of. Gao Zhisheng was imprisoned earlier this year
because he is a Christian attorney (this is the story from world media
