to Jesus On the Web
Hello,

Many of you might grieve that things are desperately wrong around you
as you see more and more churches ordaining openly homosexual and
lesbian people as such churches also appear to care less and less
about God. If this is the case in your life or if you feel that you
are trapped with lots of God hating people all around you, then
perhaps God is calling you to ministry. Perhaps you go to church and
find that no one really cares (they just go their because they feel
obligated to do so), or perhaps you can not attend a church because
whenever you try to attend you find a bunch of phonies (both in the
congregation and at the pulpit) and just attending causes you much
pain and grief.

In these cases what God is calling you to do is to intercede for those
around you. Confront the phonies in person and ask them questions
such as, "Who is this Jesus that everyone talks about." Listen to
their confession and look for the weaknesses, and when you find
weakness tell that person what Jesus said or whatever scripture that
comes to mind that could be of help. Most likely you will find that
people will not know how to answer and that they will just refer you
to their Pastor or priest, so ask them something like, "so will they
stand before God’s throne in your favor so that you are not judged."

Of course we are not saved by any of our knowledge or understanding of
anything, but we are saved by God’s grace alone and by his faith that
he gives to us. This faith is what produces the fruits or works that
God desires. Overall, by demonstrating and by showing, through the
work of the Holy Ghost, the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus
Christ in real world situations and in ordinary speech you may act as
a instrument that shows God to the people so that they can understand.

One thing that you can do is to tell people about our news group and
get them to join. This can build much understanding in people. Note
that you can build a network of people for building a congregation.

If you are building a congregation, one of the best approaches is to
be careful to listen to people around you. Identify their gifts and
potential talents, and illustrate how by attending your congregation
that people can use those things to worship God and to intercede for
others (sort of like being the missing player on the team). Overall,
this news group has a multitude of Christian clergy (some of whom do
not post), but if you have problems, then you are always welcome to
publish your concerns or issues on the news group.

Lastly, one of the most important notes to make is that just reading
the parables of Christ to a person whom is not a Christian whom God is
calling to be a Christian will often bring a person to faith in
itself.

Thank you,

Mathew Enoch Mount
