Well, I've been busy catching up on various projects on the boat and making good progress getting her back ship shape. Today Mary came up to pick up Nicholas so that I can fly to Detroit tomorrow to get my motorcycle. I'm drying out Jenny by running the AC and have all the covers up. When I leave I'll turn everything off except the bilge pumps and she should be OK.
I fly into Detroit and will drive the bike right from there. The owner is meeting me there with the bike in the back of his pickup truck. I'll make some miles south and then find a motel for the night. Thursday I'll drive to Derek and Heather's and see them. Next week their movers come to pack them up. Heather finished her residency and has a job at a hospital in Sarasota. So, by July all the kids will be back in Florida. How strange.
From Derek's I think I'll travel the back roads from Nashville to Atlanta and stop a night to enjoy the trip. Then on Thursday I'll stop by my cousin Chris's for the weekend. Then, on to Laura's in FL. That's a lot of miles on a 300 lb motorcycle. I hope this old boy is up to it!
Voyager (a Selene 53) is here and Wandering Star (a Selene 47) was here for a day. I've been talking to a lot of folks and there seems to be a huge consensus that if Cuba opens up for USA citizens, it will be the destination of choice next winter. I swear there will be 1,500 boats down there. I think I'll join them.
When I get back to Jenny, I'll stay here through July and then go back out on anchor somewhere. I might just amble around and do some exploring. I have not really done that before. It might be cool just to poke around between here and St. Augustine.
All is well.
David
