All,

A beta version of JDarkRoom 13 is now available on the website
(www.codealchemists.com/jdarkroom).

This includes:
- configurable key mappings
- ctrl-T to insert time/date stamp
- a change to the default configuration directory location
- auto-detected / configurable line endings (UNIX, WIN, MAC)
- a couple more minor changes

For more information, please see the website (www.codealchemists.com/
jdarkroom).

Hi Duncan,

first of all, big thanks for JDarkRoom. After using it for 2-3 days
(for songwriting) I can really say that it's great and your decision
to give it away for free (donation based) is very generous. Thank you
very much! :-)

Originally I found JDarkRoom by searching for alternatives to
WriteRoom. The simplicity and high usability at the same time is
really amazing. I think right now is the balance near to perfect.
Maybe it's even one or two options and key combinations too much. The
main advantages of the JDarkRoom for me are it's concept and
simplicity of design and control.

There is some minor bugs I noticed in the Mac (application) version:
- help (Ctrl+H) says that the key combination for settings dialog is
"Command-,"
- dialogs for open/save file starting with root and not with user home
directory
- result of showing open/save dialogs is leaving of the full screen
mode
- running JDarkRoom on Linux (jar-version, Mandriva Linux release
2007.1 (Official) for x86_64) shows some java exceptions. However it
has no impact on the runnability of the application (despite the
exceptions, everything works just fine):

$ java -jar JDarkRoom.jar

On OpenSUSE 10.3 I get the following error with plain "java -jar
KDarkRoom.jar""...

Starting JDarkRoom...

jdarkroom.properties
libxcb: WARNING! Program tries to unlock a connection without having
acquired
a lock first, which indicates a programming error.
There will be no further warnings about this issue.

Full-screen mode not supported. Please consider upgrading your
version of Java, or using JDarkRoom on a device that supports full-
screen mode.
Thank you for using JDarkRoom. Have a nice evening!

Not sure what the last part is referring to, as I've got the latest
version (non-oss) of Java installed.

I decide to check out the bug reports, and editing the conf file to
force fullscreen fixed the problem.

Hope you didn't waste any time looking into the problem!
