Just getting started

I can't seem to find a good "Tutorial" for JBASE newbie's. Something
that holds your hand while you create your first DB.

Given how long jBase has been around I find it very strange.

I don't think "DB" concept applies to jBASE very much; rather -
collection of data and dictionary files, indices, routines etc. I
believe you need to take a look at :

though it's not a tutorial but gives you quite a good picture. Keep in
mind that if you use T24 then the whole approach is quite different.

I was hoping to see other responses to this. I've been looking for and
end-to-end "Intro to jBase" for years. I've relied on the generous
time and information from a few colleagues, jBase personnel, and of
course this forum - and I thank everyone for information provided over
the years. Frankly, I don't like relying on others so much for
information and this has negatively affected my adoption of the
platform. I think it's a great platform, it's just too hard to become
completely competent with it unless you're getting paid a full-time
check to do so.

The word for years has been "good idea", "we're working on that", or
something to the effect of "it's just around the corner". Um, OK. This
platform would benefit hugely from a complete package that allows
newbies to install quickly and easily, a configuration form, and
_current_ and detailed documentation. With this, the platform could be
offered to new audiences of developers, and thus, new end-users.
In case it's not obvious, that means money for mPower1. :)

But alas, here we are and here is where they want to be.

For anyone who knows better - How wrong am I?
