How is everyone doing? The season has really changed here in Utah
this week--I walked into my office building this morning and froze. I
forgot my gloves. It is 32 degrees and windy.

I still try to walk everyday, but since I don't have my gloves, I will
forget the walk today. Of course, my dog, Rowdy, will make me go
tonight but I will have my hat and gloves then.

H1N1 is not such a big deal here in Utah yet. Of course, the usual
colds and stuff are going around. I hope you all are well and staying
healthy.

Thanks for checking in. My son got M1N1 three weeks ago but it was a
fairly mild case and is fine now.

I am still suffering from vertigo caused by "ear rocks". My wife thought
I was making this up but she was able to find a NPR article on the
internet.
I went to a Neurologist who did something called the Epley Maneuver. It
helped but the vertigo has resurfaced. I am trying to this maneuver
myself but not having as much success. Apparently the ear rocks are much
more likely to occur as one gets older.

I am really enjoying the new set - I'm usually not that fond of
instrumentals but I really like the string sounds.

My daughter did her first "Informance" yesterday. The audience was
treated to Mary Had a Little Lamb, Jingle Bells, and a host of similar
songs. The kids were really excited which made the evening very
enjoyable.

I hope everyone has great Halloween.

Glenn: my doctor called them "pebbles". And in my maneuver, on I was
on an declined board. The doc/nurse where prepared to help me up, but
I have strong abs thanks to (let's say it all together now):
JAZZERCISE!!!!

Hope it gets better.

And glad you're enjoying the new routines. We miss you on Facebook!

What is the facebook address so I can keep up with everyone there?
I'm hating not having Jazzercise here. I could drive to Salt Lake
City for class, but it takes up so much time driving. My son promised
to join G*ld's G*m with me. I've tried their bootcamp and body slam.
Except for the 20-something instructors who think there is only one
tempo the classes were ok. I used my Jazzercise training to modify--
one of the instructors stopped me after class to ask where I learned
to do "that". Ha!

I've never heard of pebbles or rocks. My husband has tintinitis which
also causes vertigo. It seems like if it's an 'itis it should go
away, but it doesn't. Can the doctors fix pebbles/rocks?

Rock-tober has been the most awesome month!

We rode the tandem from San Francisco to Santa Barbara; 414 miles in 7
days. Read my husband's blog and click on the pics to see them full
size: www.justaguyonlifesjourney.blogspot.com

Then a friend came in from NC and we rode 160 miles in 3 days. Took 3
days off and rode 64.4 miles to celebrate my 55th birthday. Took 7
days off and had an easy ride with our race team organizer this
afternoon. I feel great, finished my season strong, and am looking
forward to lots of fun rides during the off season. Chris is finished
his project and his brutal, ridiculous hours and is re-learning how to
be "normal."

Life's great here on the left coast.

I have no idea what rocks or pebbles are -- do they feel like rocks/
pebbles?

I liked the inversion thing our friend had in the 80's but never
understood why it made you feel better.

Carry on, gang!

Deborah:

You are fantastic!

Apparently everyone has ear rocks or ear pebbles - mine are just out of alignment. The Doctor won't get rid of them. He will just get them back in alignment. I think my doing the Epley maneuver myself just got them further dislodged. No sit ups or other head movement for me until Tuesday.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Deborah,
Great pictures and description of your trip. What an experience. I
left Lompoc 1-1/2 years ago and I still miss it. It has been my
favorite place ever to work and live. I've seen the elephant seals
and Morrow bay. I would like to go back some time and see more of
Hearst's Castle. The tour people say there are still zebras and
unusual animals (no lions or bears) wandering along that area from
Hearst's zoo -- they just turned the grazing-type animals loose. But
the best part is seeing that coast line. Thanks for sharing.
