I saw and ad in my most recent WW Magazine for Pr*gress* Light 0
Point soup! I'll have to check it out. I just hope it's not too high
in sodium.

There are actual a few of the soups. The mexican one is probably the
best, but not great. Have you ever checked out the website/daily e-
mails from hungrygirl - dot -com? She does lots of reviews of low cal
food and snacks, and she reviewed these a few weeks back. She also has
several 0 pt soup recipes. The daily e-mails are worth subscribing.
She has a huge database of "today is national whatever food day" (like
today is national hot and spicy food day) -- I love mentioning these
in class. Monday was "give a cow a break day" and we talked about
other ways to get calcium rather than milk. (Of course, national pina
colada day was pretty popular!)

I actually like all of them! The meixan and veggie barley are
probably my favorites.

I love soup, though. Especially when it's cold! The whole can is
only 2 pts! But I don't think there's much of a difference in sodium
from regular varieties...

I'm going to have to check out that site. Thanks! I love the
Progresso light soups. The Southwestern one is AWESOME. Add some low
fat tortilla chips and you got a meal. Yummy!
Today, I'm making a potato and roasted garlic soup from one of my WW
cookbooks. If it turns out delish, I'll have to share.

820mg???!!! That's what I was afraid of -- sis and I have to do low
sodium 'cause we have high BP, so the Progresso soups are coming off
the list of things to try.

We generally enjoy the He@lthy Choice soups - they have a country
vegetable soup we like (we add some spices like powdered garlic,
chives, no salt lemon-pepper, and no salt italian seasoning to boost
the taste a bit. They are generally around 440mgs of sodium for
serving. Jude and I split the can and it works out to be a 2 point
serving.

Thanks for the info!

Pr*gresso does have a line of low-sodium soups, but the Light 0 point
(R) soup ain't one of them!

Figures. Take out that fat and up either the sugar or the sodium -
never fails.

I just invented a new soup and it's very yummy. But I have no idea on
the calorie count or fat content.

I made Turkey Chili and it ok, but it was just ho-hum. So I added a
28oz can of crushed tomatoes, can of mushrooms, fresh mushrooms,
steamed califlower and just brought it to a boil and then simmered for
20 minutes-just used up the veggies in the fridge before I went
grocery shopping.

It's the best Turkey Chili Veggie soup I have ever made. Serve it up
with whole wheat pita (2 pts) and lower fat hummus (2 T= 1 pt) and you
have a meal. I would say 1 and half cups is worth about 4 or 5 points
and worth 2.5 veggie servings. (Chili had lots of onions, celery and
kidney beans and lean ground turkey breast.)
