I forgot to weigh in yesterday, but it worked out ok. I lost the 0.5
pound I gained back last week.
It has been unusually rainy here in northern Utah for the last week
(off and on). Saturday I had a great day working out in the yard. I
was all pumped to continue on Sunday, but it rained a lot. The good
thing is I planted a shade garden and all the plants have come up and
one even had a teeny, tiny flower on it! Next year it should be
spectacular.
Anyway, the point is my walking has been cut short since I live close
to the foothills. I was watching the clouds as I was walking my dog
last night hoping it wouldn't starting lightening while I was out. I
did have to run to H*me Dep*t after the walk, it was cool to see the
clouds hung up on Mt. B*n L*m*nd.
It appears that you are getting in a lot of good exercise which is nice
to see.
I went to the Doctor for my annual physical and the doctor said I was in
great shape but after further questioning what he meant was that I was
in great shape for the lousy shape that I'm in (ancient, overweight,
diabetic, on blood thinners, etc)
It kind of seemed like he was telling me that I got the highest score of
those that failed - to refer to an old Leave it to Beaver episode.
According to the doctor's scale I was down a pound this week. According
to their yardstick I am down another inch which I do not like.
All my life I have been slightly below average height for a male - but
when I was 5'9" I was just barely below average. Now at 5'6" I am way
below average height for a male and getting to be about average height
for a female.
To make matters worse I really hate punching in 5'6" at the B.M.I. scale
at our HEB.

Sorry about your health woes, Glenn. I got a picture in my head of you
as Eeyore, sad and slouchy. And no matter your perspective, you're in
better shape than the young, non-diabetic, etc., couch potatoes. Give
yourself credit for that, at least.
My weight didn't change from last week so I'm upping the exercise
(almost none last week; how bizarre!) and working harder to stay w/in
my points. I better see some results, dagnabbit.
I bought a new pair of running shoes (pic posted in Files, to the
right) and ran 3.5 mi. with the dogs on Monday. I kinda hurt, but I
was already hurtin' from the time trial we rode on Sunday. 18 miles
in 50:50, good enough for 5th place.
Anyway, I'm planning on running the Big Sur 1/2 Marathon on Nov.
15th. Anyone want to join me? (c:
The only attendance game I'm playing is showing up for my exercise
time. Sometimes just showing up is 1/2 the battle. But the rewards
are terrific. Good luck to all who are playing!

Deborah
Glad to hear you're back on the bike and running. I haven't heard
from my bike racing friend, formerly ski partner, since race season
started. It looks like so much fun, but I have so much work to do
around my house and yard--I feel guilty taking the time for biking and
such. She hired a trainer and works out every night after work--way
too much time for me.
However, I'm still looking forward to the day when some one starts a
Jazzercise class close to my house. I'll be the first in line for
class--even when I'm a little, old lady (which could be really soon)!
