There's a mineral called Strontium (NOT strontium 90 :-)) that has been
shown to actually grow bone in people, even into their 90's, whether they be
right or left-leaning. Check out the literature..

Hey Doc, I read a glimmer of hope for people with bone and
cartilacartilagege problems. It was in last months discover mag. They
are actively growing cartilage in the UK and human trials were
started last Feb. according to the article

I didn't see much difference in the more expensive formulation of
curcuminoids. I took two bottles worth of the stuff and backed off on
the regular tumeric I was capping up myself. I've gone back to just
the turmeric, bromelaine and ginger. Still doing fine with only
occasional very short term discomfort. Haven't taken any other anti-
inflammatory drugs in ages. Long my your fingers wiggle.

I know what of you speak. I've had arthritis in my lower back for years. I
think it sort of comes with age. Three years ago I got myself thrown over a
railing, and I landed flat on my back from a height of 6 feet. My back is
kicking my ass this morning. I was lifting something I shouldn't have
yesterday. The handwriting on the wall from my body is gouged in a foot
deep. It says you're living your 75th year, and you've done a lot of stupid
stuff over the years to damage yourself. Both of my shoulders have been
operated on, accidents, wear and tear. I'll keep playing as long as I have
a finger left.



I will say this, I hear and understand music in my head more clearly than
ever. I hear everything I want to do, and what it has to say. This is the
source of the reality we try to externalize through the guitar. When I
finally graduate from this Earth School of compressed learning, I won't be
able to take the Cremona you sold me, but everything I've learned, and
everything I hear will go with me.

Ron,

That's good news. I wish they had something that could grow back the brain cells destroyed in my earlier years of hard living. Those of us with a 'checkered past' know exactly what I mean!

I am taking 4 or more grams of C spread out over the day (mostly to ward off vampires... OOPS... sorry, those are the cloves of garlic I wear as a necklace at night).

C really helps my immune system. Half a dozen times over the past 6 months I have started to get the itchy nose, sore throat, sniffles and sneezes, the beginning of a cold. Vitamin C for me is like dropping in the 101st airborne. Kills are them damn germs dead, with the help of the local resistance (my funky old immune system)

Also, I am hitting the calcium supplements too.

I have found that far me, Ibuprofen does so little to help my inflammation issues that I don't bother anymore. If I really want to get MORE inflamed though I simply listen to right wing talk radio and TV. That is, until I start to feel the vomit rise in my throat. Arg!

Same with most lefties, only for a different reason. They are (most, but not all) usually so cowardly and wishy washy, I get inflammation of my ethics gland listening to those set of bozos. I guess I wouldn't piss on the whole lot of them (left right and center) 'if'n they was on fire.'

Thank God for Jon Stewart. He is about the only person that makes sense to me at all by pointing out the absolute absurdity of ALL politics (boy is THAT a tragic statement on us here in the US).

I hope I don't offend any righty guitar players on the list (or leflies for that matter). Political affiliation in Washington matters very little to me, I guess. They are all (with a few notable exceptions) sickening to me. A more greedy, self-serving worthless bunch of cretins would be hard to find anywhere!!!

Talk about nerve damage huh? Current politics in the US strikes a raw nerve with me for sure ...... haha

I am not advocating a political thread as they tend to get 'inflammatory' (har har)..... and I apologize to non US forum members for this..... as I am just venting a bit of frustration at the criminal corporate kleptocracy that passes for so-called democracy in the US.

Back to my back.... which isn't hurting near as much as our country is now.... I will keep you updated. We are ALL just one slip and fall away from this kind of injury, and other players here on the forum have this back problem thing far, far worse than me, so if I manage to come across effective healing therapies, I will pass them along.

And excuse the political rant, however my back does feel better after letting off some pressure ......yuk, yuk....
