I have a custom-made electric with no name or number on the
headstock, as well as a Carvin strat-copy made from a kit that
again, has no name on the headstock.
Is it enough to say:
Russ Lackey custom-made electric guitar, approx. value $3,000
Carvin, "Bolt" electric guitar, $450
or should they be identified more specifically than that?
I have pictures of both, if that helps any i.e. if they're good to
keep on file as well.

Years ago a lawyer told me that photos of your equipment would be sufficient (if serial numbers are missing...) ... also, for some of the seniors here, the same serial number, value, manufacturer info., etc. needs to be listed in you "Will" (or attachment to Will -- which I'm in the process of doing) ... for many of us do own a considerable amount of electronic gear besides guitars and/or any of instruments ...
