I met Joe Diorio at G.I.T in 1983, It was a great experience, altough at that time I had only 2 years of playing, just to watch him playing was amazing. The enviroment at G.I.T at the time was unique: Howard Roberts, Joe Pass, Ron Eschete... Later in 1985 a friend brought Joe to Rio, he came again to Rio in 1989, and in 1995 me and friend Marco Tulio brought him to Brasilia. I kept contact with him ever since. Joe is my main influence, an amazing player and human being, with a unique style.
