How many people here have facilities for home recording? I
have pretty much everything necessary for tracking up to a
quintet, even though my space isn't super big; biggest challenge
is iso, especially for drums...

I have pretty much everything I need [ but not everything I'd like ]
to make acceptable sounding recordings. Like the guitar it's more
about ears than gear to a certain extent. But I'd still like to wrap
my ears around one of those 12 hundred dollar Apogee interfaces from
the Rosetta series with the soft knee limiting and the proprietary
dither algorithm. It's always something. This part of recording gear
is probably the most critical for getting a larger than life sound.
And I'm not thinking of reverb but the depth and width of the stereo
image and clarity at all frequency levels.
