We welcome discussions on Photo related topics and we are delighted to
welcome discussions about www.javeaphotos.com - but we WILL remove
links to Spam and Malicious Viral sites and to sites of dubious
artistic merit...
A recent contribution has just been removed as potentially malicious -
it included a link to a video that was unikely to enhance
Javeaphotos.com.
In the unlikely event it was a genuine and considered post - I am
happy to start this discussion so the poster can explain their post
further...

Hi just removed another spoof email - my advice would be if it looks
suspect and offers a link to any page other than www.javeaphotos.com
DON'T FOLLOW IT - unless the poster is known to you! How would people
feel if we made this a closed group - intead of an open one?

Or... We could keep it open - but insist that the site is moderated so
that as Site managers we "earn our keep"?
That way any one could post, but we would see the messages before it
went live? If we promosed that all legit messages were posted -- would
that be better than closing off the group?

I think, personally, if this carries on we should consider making a
CLOSED site of those we know and trust. If anyone has a mind to
'screw up' a site let them try elsewhere and see what happens we can

A Closed site is very tempting - but the option of moderating might be
a good interim measure - whilst we make up our minds - so I shall set
up moderation, first and see how that works out
Apologies if that means a delay in your posts. but it should mean that
I can weed out the viral campaigns before they get to you all
