Hi,

I will be at JavaOne India on 8-9 May. I would expect to run into many of the key Java decision makers at the event.

Any specific feedback on Java that I should share with the people driving Java technologies?

What do you think of Java today? Java EE / Java Mobile...?

Thanks,
Harshad

One prominent concern I have is Java development is seriously lagging behind Scala, Clojure and other JVM languages. The pace at which new language level features are being introduced in them is way faster than it was ever in Java.

JRE is becoming a better platform than Java language itself. And Oracle / Java community should be worried about this if they don't want Java to be new COBOL.

Hi Shirish,

Yes,I understand Java is lagging behind Scala, closure and other JVM languages. These ups and downs in technology comes in life cycle of technology. But its difficult to replace Java in terms of its widespread.
Also,If you look Java,C# or C are somewhat similar in terms of their syntax but Scala is much different in syntax.

Yes.its true we must always move ahead with new features.

Thanks
Md Fraz
Thanks & Regards,
