I've just seen the presentation. The thing is really a piece of cake,
one of the smoothest things seen lately and the guys gave a very good
speech. After seeing the thing running interactively, though, I think
that there will be a set of people finding it useful (possibly the most)
and another set of people not. In particular, from the references they
gave there is a research about the fact that a "good" MDI is better than
switching from apps once at a time. I must say I personally don't find
myself with this. Figure it out that my laptop at 99% of times renders a
single window at a time, maximized, and I much prefer to see a single
thing at a time; the only exception being when I have to drag and drop
or copy something that doesn't work with the clipboard (e.g. passwords).
With a lot of stuff on the screen I easily lose focus. I can easily
reckon myself in a minority. It might be a big difference when working a
very large screen, which unfortunately for me happens only at home, when
working on my photos.

Given that, I really hope to see it working in the NetBeans IDE soon (it
would be it very nice to have Bubble running on the NetBeans Platform
indeed, because I would find it useful for the LightTable feature of
blueMarine... even though, working on a different data model, I could
probably replicate some "bubbling" functionality with the NetBeans
Visual Library. I hope there are no patents on Code Bubble :-).

I remember it :-) But I think this has been the first presentation of
the thing at a large conference.

Any idea of a release date?

Not that I'm aware. They are running an invitations-only beta program,
and just announced that in a few weeks they'll grow the number of beta
testers.
