JACT Spring Assembly 001- First Meeting of Spring 2013!

Greetings JACT,

Hope you guys are all enjoying the beginning of a new semester! You know what that means -- new anime!  Our first meeting will be held on Friday, January 11th at 6:00pm in Student Services Building Room 218! 

We will be watching the first episodes of the following nominated regulars: - Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!  - Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Control: The Money and Soul of Possibility - YuruYuri - Great Teacher Onizuka - Nichijou Get ready to get blown away with four hours of awesome anime! We've got laughs, feels, and amazing plot for everyone! Votes for these Regulars will be cast towards the end of the meeting, so be sure to be here! Newcomers are encouraged to attend! Bring your friends, too! This Semester's Choices for Regulars: Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!  Plot Summary:  High school freshman Yūta Togashi was once a "chūnibyō patient" i.e. an overly self-conscious middle schooler. He wants to bury this embarrassing past and begins a new life in high school—unsuccessfully. His classmate Rikka Takanashi, a "current" chūnibyō patient, has found traces of residual symptoms on him and used the fact to force Togashi "making a contract" with her. Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo Plot Summary: Sorata is kicked out of his high-school dorms for keeping a cat, and moves into a small dorm called Sakurasou. It turns out that all the residents, in addition to being uncontrollable and weird, are outstanding in some way: a well-known animator, a scriptwriter, a programmer. A beautiful girl called Mashiro moves in who is an internationally known painter but is so devoted to art that she can't even dress herself, and Sorata is given the job of looking after her. Through her and the other residents, he learns who he is and what he wants to do. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Plot Summary: Late 19th century. Young, handsome and wealthy English nobleman Jonathan Joestar seems to have everything people crave for. His lowly-born adopted brother Dio Brando, brought into the family by Jonathan's father George, is particularly jealous of Jonathan. When Jonathan found out Dio's horrible secret, he tried to use an stone mask that looks like a torture instrument to kill Jonathan, who's into archaeology and might make the death looks like an accident. However, the stone mask is anything but a simple instrument. Control: The Money and Soul of Possibilities: Plot Summary: he Japanese government was rescued from the brink of financial collapse by the Sovereign Wealth Fund. For its citizens, however, life has not improved, and unemployment, crime, suicide, and despair are rampant. Kimimaro is a scholarship student whose only dream is to avoid all this and live a stable life as a civil servant. One day, however, he meets a man who offers him the chance to make money fast. From then on Kimimaro is drawn into a mysterious realm known as "The Financial District," where people engage in supernatural battles for the possibility of money. Yuruyuri: Plot Summary: Right after starting middle school, Akari Akaza joins the Amusement Club which is composed solely of her two childhood friends, Kyouko Toshinou and Yui Funami. Chinatsu Yoshikawa, Akaza's classmate, becomes a member after finding out about the dissolution of the Tea Club. The Amusement Club, situated at the tea room facility since the Tea Club disbanded, has no clear purpose, being free for the girls to do whatever they want. Great Teacher Onizuka: Plot Summary: Onizuka is an ex-biker and gang leader who has one goal, to become the greatest teacher. He learns of the power and respect possible as an intern teacher, using his strength and connections to get his students to respect him. Now, graduated, he gets a job at a prestigious private school to handle their 'problem class' that made the past few teachers quit. He must handle a different sort of trouble when the trouble makers include some of the smartest kids in Japan who prefer a more cerebral approach to torturing their teacher. Onizuka must slowly win his students over and deal with their mistrust of teachers while handling the distrust of his fellow teachers. Nichijou: Plot Summary: The ordinary life of the peculiar students from class 1-Q and their odd acquaintances. While the title suggests a story of simple, everyday school life, the contents are more the opposite. The setting is a strange school where you may see the principal wrestle a deer or a robot's arm hide a rollcake.
