Hey everybody,
Well I hope everybody has been getting plenty of riding in outside
this week.
I think at least George has, there has been several people I work with
has spotted him coming into work these past couple of 20degree
mornings on Airways Blvd & Lower Brownsville Rd.
I take my hat off to you, George & anybody else that has been getting
outside riding these past couple of days.
But on another note, just to let everybody know that the 1st loop has
been put in at Union with very work left to do to it besides building
a bridge over the ditch towards the begining. Other than that the
trail just needs to be riden.
I'm still not positve on how much distance we have gotten out of this
1st loop, but I think Keith said it took about 7 minutes to do a lap.
So I'm thinking somewhere between 1.5 & 2.0 miles.
The trailhead is located almost directly across (to the left on top of
the hill) from the parking area off of Pleasant Plains Rd. With the
finish of the loop coming out on the top of the hill directly across
from the parking area.
Scott is going to be getting some signs made with a trail map & rules
regarding the use of the trail.
The 2nd loop is still in the planning stages due to the difference in
the challenging terrain that will be used for this loop. The beginning
of this loop has been somewhat started but far from completed.
As far as trailwork for this coming weekend is concerned, I'm not
going to be able to show up.
So if anyone else is wanting to do any have at it, if anyone wants to
work on puttin in the bridge you might send out an message to see if
anyone has any spare lumber laying around that they might donate to
the cause.
If not I'll check with Scott to see if the school can provide any
supplies for the project.
Maybe we'll see if the weather is going to be like next weekend.
Have a good weekend & try to stay warm & dry!!!
Gib

I do plan to help with the project but have conflicts for the next two
weekends also. I am excited about our getting new trails and in town. Never
thought I would see that happen. Hope this gets some interest in mountain
biking stirred up.

Greg

PS I stopped and talked to George one day earlier this week out on Old
Humboldt Rd. I have to admire anyone that would get out and put in miles
with the temps we have had the last few days.

Hey Shane,

I’m not real sure right now on when I’m going to get back out there. Today is my last day of work for the year, so I’ll post an email as soon as I figure something out & get some materials together for the bridge needed in the first section.

Have a Merry Christmas & I’ll talk to you soon,

Gib

Hey Gib,

This is Jimmy from Huntingdon, let me know what materials you need and I will see what I can provide. I have some wood and would like to contribute to the trail. How wide and deep is the ditch we need to bridge? I can take off any day next week except Tuesday.
