Malleswaram Moves! celebrates urban culture and neighbourhood community building. Part of Malleswaram Accessibility Project - M{A}P and in collaboration with several organisations and individuals (listed below), the last 2 weeks of February will be packed with more than 25 unique events, exhibitions and activities celebrating urban culture. M{A}P is a collaboration between the Directorate of Urban Land Transport - Govt. of Karnataka and Jaaga.
The festival culminates on the 25th of February with a day-long series of events, exhibitions and street-side art interventions in Malleswaram. Data from over 1800 unique interviews on mobility issues as well as socio-cultural relevance gathered residents, users and visitors of Malleswaram, collected over the months of Dec 2011 and Jan 2012 will be released and displayed to the public on this day!
The Urban Avant-Garde Project enabled top German street artists to work in tandem with Indian artists over a period of the month of February 2012 to create unique visual artworks on public walls and buses in the neighbourhood of Malleswaram. The public wall painting, workshops and lectures in Malleswaram and across the city are supported and sponsored by the Max Mueller Bhavan/Goethe Institut – Bangalore and is part of the Germany & India Year 2012: Infinite Opportunities framework.
