HI,

yes Globus desktop still can work with R08.. but take in consideration that it is not perfect do for example you can test something that is working fine in Desktop but not working with browser, so it is better to forget about desktop , it is hard to work with browser in the begining but it is the best way to get the result you are looking for

Hi,

 

There is no special setup needed,The desktop doesnt work with model bank db but works with geniune client db.

 

Even if the client db doesnt support desktop u can get back patch.

Yeah browser gave me hell lot of problems with TT in my last
project ... the users were so unsatisfied with the functionality tht
the project finally went on hold :)
Temenos still needs to work hard on browser ..

Browser version number?
I personally think that Browser 2.x is much better (and faster) than
1.x. I agree that 1.x was little crappy, but it is quite normal with
initial software releases.

I wonder also what caused users on your project to "be unsatisfied". GUI
performance, look and feel, HTML session expiry time, record locking?
Can you share your experiences?

I would also like to ask if you know that Browser brings some extra
functionality unavailable in other Temenos GUIs. For example: composite
screens, pictures / javascripts, upload forms, buttons, hyperlinks,
basic (pie) charts, possibility of authorisation of multiple records at
the same time?

Do not make me wrong, but I simply think that Browser is now "Temenos
mainstream" and is equal to your future - wheter you want it or not.

I would not blame Temenos for development of their products, but just
for quality that seems to be 2nd not 1st priority for them. You may
blame them also by missing functionality, but you did not point out any
samples.

Finally you can always decide to build your own GUI and let your users
be satisfied or just link T24 to your existing user friendly system if
you prefer. Perhaps Browser will evolve meanwhile? Then it is a risk
that you need to rebuild something.
