CALL FOR PAPERS
The hippocampus is a structure of acute interest in biomedical
imaging research. This interest is driven by the unanswered
questions about its precise role in the memory system, its
unique involvement in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative
disorders, its ability to serve as an early biomarker in
Alzheimer's disease, and many other factors. The complex folding
anatomy of the hippocampus presents challenges for general
whole-brain analysis frameworks and calls for dedicated,
hippocampus-specific methods. In recent years, many specialized
techniques for segmenting, measuring and mapping the hippocampus
have been introduced. This workshop will provide a venue for
disseminating these exciting new developments and collectively
addressing the many challenges still faced by the field.
WORKSHOP TOPICS
Papers are invited in all areas of research involving
hippocampus-focused imaging analysis, including
* automatic and semi-automatic segmentation of the hippocampus
* mapping and segmentation of hippocampal subfields
* geometric modeling and shape analysis
* hippocampus-centric normalization and atlas generation
* validation approaches for manual and automatic techniques
* histology and postmortem imaging analysis
* fusion of information from postmortem, in vivo and animal imaging
* longitudinal and cross-sectional morphometry studies of disease,
healthy aging/development
* fMRI and DTI analysis techniques focusing on the hippocampus

Papers submitted to the workshop should conform to the MICCAI
formatting instructions, with few minor modifications explained below:
* Papers should be in the LNCS style
* Suggested length is 8 pages, maximum length is 12 pages
* Anonymized for double blind review
* Submitted in PDF format
* Color illustrations in the PDF are not subject to fees
* Papers may be double-submitted to main conference and other workshops
