If I run htop inside either screen or tmux over mosh in iTerm, most of the function keys don't work as expected. Pretty much all keys except cursor keys act to increase the nice value of the currently selected process! If I run htop outside screen or tmux, it works as it should. Any idea how to fix that?

I'm running iTerm build 1.0.0.20130319.

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 and tmux is version 1.5.1 from ubuntu backports, the latest available for Ubuntu Lucid.

First, try getting the latest nightly build (iterm2.com/nightly/latest). There was a bug where iTerm2 would get stuck in application keypad mode that might be biting you.
If that doesn't fix it, does Terminal behave differently? If not, it's not an iTerm2 issue, but something to do with how screen and tmux process input. You might follow up on the tmux mailing list, which is fairly active.
If this works in Terminal but not the latest iTerm2 nightly build, do this: https://code.google.com/p/iterm2/wiki/DebuggingKeyboardProblems, saving the log for the working (non-tmux) and broken (tmux) cases.
