 1. WinRAR 4.0 beta 1 and beta 2 Released!
 
 win.rar GmbH and rarlab.com are proud to announce the first 2 beta
versions of the new WinRAR. Version 4.0 beta 1 and beta 2 is yet
another step ahead for the most complete archiving software on the
market.
 
 ** Highlights of the 4.0 beta version:
 
    1. 30% faster decompression: Thanks to the RAR
algorithm, you can now extract your files 30% faster than before which
will be most noticeable with large multi media files
 
    2. New password manager: For the first time
ever you can save and define your most used passwords. With WinRAR
beta 2 the usability of the new password manager has been improved
even further to meet the customer's needs.
 
    3. Improved Unicode support: WinRAR now supports
non-English file names and messages can now be delivered in HTML or
Unicode text files.
 
    4. Further innovations:
 
       a) Better Blu-ray support:
WinRAR 4.0 has better Blu-ray support that enables you to unpack
Blu-ray files
 
       b) Optional password display:
you now have the option to make your password visible during packing
and unpacking processes
 
       c) The message list on the GUI
SFX now only displays operation status and error messages, instead of
all file names. This naturally speeds up the extracting process and
reduces the disk space required.
 
 Some bugs which have been found in WinRAR 4.0 beta 1 already have
been eliminated. Such as:
 
 - extraction operation activated from Explorer context menu might
fail if several archives were selected and processed at once
 - sorting by "Type" in WinRAR shell did not work inside of
archives
