Hans Abbing always draws in the presence of a model. He improvises
while drawing the model. As in improvised music, he keeps the
surrounding conditions as fixed as possible: the pastel, the kind and
size of paper, the location and often the model as well remain the
same. Within these limitations he gives himself a maximum of freedom.
The special exposition is part of the world-wide web exhibition of
Vromans Gallery in Amsterdam. The site features 350+ high quality
pictures of works by leading contemporary artists in the fields of
lyrical abstractivsm, tachism and constructivism. You can see works
