Looks like you're seeing an ID conflict. I've experienced this on Firefox.
Here's a solution:
1) Assign different id values to the object and embed tags.
<object id="issuuViewerObejct" ...> ... <embed id="issuuViewerEmbed"
... /></object>
2) Use a function to get the right one for your browser:

Yes, Clicking in "Test viewer... " I get this js error:
Object doesn't support thisproperty or method
I've changed '&' to '&' and the same is happening...

I see nothing wrong except that your '&' should be '&' (escaped)
in the HTML.
Now when you add this to your page:
<a href="#test-viewer" onclick="var v =
document.getElementById('issuuViewer'); v.goToLastPage(); return

Click on the 'Test viewer scripting' link. Do you see any
