Hi,
I just bought my first iPhone a week ago. :-) I got the Thinkgeek
physical keyboard for it, with the intention of turning it into a
lean, mean, ssh-from-anywhere machine. Of course, I ran into the
control key issue everyone's been talking about.
I would be very happy with the proposed solution of mapping option/alt
to control. I just wanted to add my voice to the set of people asking
for the feature, as it's pretty hard to use a unix machine without a
control key!

Thanks very much for the reply! I'm confused, though -- I didn't
think there was any difference between an Apple-branded bluetooth
keyboard, and the Thinkgeek bluetooth keyboard. I'll take your
word for it that there is such a difference, though -- I have
a full-size Apple-branded one as well, and even using it, I still
can't see the "corner of a keyboard with the letters 'C' and 'A'"
icon on my iPhone. Is this still an iPad-only feature?
I think that's what I was trying to ask about -- sorry if I wasn't
clear! If there's some Apple-versus-third-party hardware conflict
going on, that's certainly not iSSH's responsibility to do anything
about. But it would be great to have iPhone/iPad parity; heck,
even if I have to find room in my shoulderbag for an Apple-branded
bluetooth keyboard, that's still better than having to carry
around a Macbook!
And yes, I know it stinks that Apple doesn't provide actual
key-up/key-down events. :-(
Thanks,
~Ben
