Hey guys,

The next meeting is in the cooking over there on
http://www.meetup.com/IsraelRubyUnderground/events/24126891/

This meeting going to be targeted at intermediate/advanced ruby/rails
guys more than beginners.

Right now we have on lecture that Vitaly going to give on
InheritedResource gem (must have tool for any tool belt, highly
recommended)

The good rails guys from SAP are going to give some lecture too (Guys
form SAP, feel free to update here or on the meetup page what exactly
the lecture is about)

And we are still waiting for some brave soul to step in and tell us
something interesting.

Mmm?

I sent an email to Vitaly few weeks ago, considering that maybe it was lost or something, I'm reposting here:

"If you think it will be of interest to the attendants, I will be glad to give a talk about using Guard & Spork to speed up specs (or TestUnit) runs and stream lining the TDD process. I can also give a brief introduction to Rails templates (which are helpful in applying Guard, Spork and other tools configurations to new projects)."

Hi,
I would like attend the next meeting, and if it interest the group,
I'll be happy to talk shortly about scoped_search, a rails plugin I
am
involved in developing.
The plugin page: http://github.com/wvanbergen/scoped_search
My scoped_search blog: http://scopedsearch.wordpress.com/
Amos.

Great!

Thanks guys for stepping up.

Arik, i for one would be interested to hear about spork. Tried to make
it useful number of times already, each time it was broken for my apps
in different ways. How much time you need?

Amos, i guess lightning talk should cover that, right? Something like
15 minutes? It would be great to hear a small comparison with stuff
like searchlogic (i personally use this one extensively) and
has_scope.

And we maybe coming to close the first meeting that we have more
content than time to present, so we need to plan carefully.

Vitaly, SAP guys, how long you expect your lectures to be?

I will be covering has_scope and searchlogic as part of my
inherited_resorces talk (they are best when used together).
Do you think its different enough to warrant separate talk on the same
meetup?
If so, how much time will you need?

Knowing them both, I would say they are different enough,
scoped_search target is much more towards user experience and simple
API.
